Black Friday, the biggest annual retail day in the country, is less than one week away. And although Walmart held onto its crown last year as the place to shop, Amazon roared along into second place and actually managed to steal the lead on Cyber Monday. Whether Walmart will beat Amazon in total sales for Black Friday 2019 is yet to be seen; regardless of the final ranking, however, you can count on excellent deals from the American megastore on just about every gift and gadget under the sun, from toys and tools to 4K smart TVs, laptop PCs, iPads, and Apple Watches.
Other stores definitely keep close eyes on Amazon’s deals, especially on unassuming items like Instant Pots, Dyson vacuums, and Keurig coffee makers — the type of product that attracts a ton of shoppers who then stick around to spend more money on pricier stuff. To keep a competitive edge, Walmart didn’t spill the beans on its Black Friday sale offerings too far ahead of time, but we now know all the juicy details on dates as well as some specific deals we can expect to see on the big day (which include early tech discounts in the run-up to Black Friday).

Walmart Black Friday deals going on now
Walmart has a ton of items on sale more or less year-round, but during the next few days, the deals will become even sweeter and much more frequent leading up to Black Friday. The retailer just started putting up early discounts last week, and there are now many excellent deals available on 4K smart TVs, Apple Watches, smartphones, laptop computers, tablets, headphones, drones, gaming consoles, and smart home devices. Be sure to keep tabs on this page and we’ll do our part to keep you in the loop.
What to expect from Walmart

To get an idea of what we can expect from Walmart’s best Black Friday deals, we’ll just look back at what we’ve seen over the past 12 months. During the past year, Walmart focused heavily on high-end electronics like smartphones, smart home products, notebook computers, and tablets, but also things like small home appliances. It’s no secret that Walmart typically has the best selections of 4K smart TVs and often the lowest prices, too, even outside of holiday sales.
If there are items like these on your wish list that Walmart has at discounted prices come Black Friday, we suggest you jump for them as soon as you see them. Even with the massive inventories that Walmart and other merchants keep on hand for Black Friday, you can count on the hottest deals selling out very quickly. Also keep in mind that (aside from perhaps Prime Day) Black Friday is hands-down the best time of the year to score deep discounts on big-ticket electronics like televisions, gaming consoles, and computers, so don’t hesitate if you see a deal on that special item you’ve been after.
If your luck ran out, however, and something you want is no longer available online for shipping, don’t give up just yet: Chances are very good that you’ll still be able to take advantage of the Black Friday deal prices via local store pickup for a bit longer. Having physical retail locations all over the country is one enormous advantage Walmart still enjoys over online-only stores such as Amazon.
What we saw at Walmart last Black Friday
It’s not likely that any other retailer will be able to match Walmart’s prices on smartphones, and in recent years the store has generally offered the cheapest big-screen 4K smart TVs from major brands. For televisions and phones in particular (and we’ll throw smart wearables like the Apple Watch into the mix this year, too), if they’re on your shopping list, be sure to keep your eyes on Walmart — and this roundup — through the next week.
Last year we saw some huge deals in the days before Black Friday, including some short-term price cuts on small quantities of 4K TVs that were better than what you could find pretty much anywhere else. We also saw rapid price changes on some items in 2018, especially on popular kitchen appliances like Instant Pots, but on some other products, too, such as smart robot vacuums. When the major stores start price wars on select products, you can be sure that Walmart will respond almost immediately.
